ITM Power, the energy storage and clean fuel company is pleased to announce the appointment of GASTEC at CRE (GaC) as consultants to assist with CE certification of its electrolyser products.

ITM Power is in the process of compiling technical evidence in support of CE certification for the four product platforms launched in April 2010 at the Hannover Messe. This process is complex and requires all of the relevant directives to be satisfied.

The Company has established key relationships with registered Notified Bodies and consultants who can offer assistance with compliance for CE certification.

They have a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of European Directives and have experience of CE-certifying fuel cell and hydrogen generation equipment. GaC is part of the Kiwa Group making it part of one of the largest product certification companies in Europe. GaC performed a pre-assessment audit of three of ITM’s prototype product platforms in 2009.

James Verlaque, Testing and Certification Manager at GaC commented: “We are delighted to be working with ITM Power and assisting them with CE certification of their first electrolyser products. GaC has many years of relevant experience which is invaluable when navigating the complex certification process.”
