Hydrogen Energy Systems
Once produced, Hydrogen can be stored indefinitely for use when required. The reconversion of this stored energy to electricity and/or heat may be undertaken by many devices, demonstrating the versatility of hydrogen.
Fuel cells are a highly efficient means of producing electrical power, and may also provide usable heat. Fuel cells work as the reverse of electrolysis; hydrogen is combined with oxygen to produce water and an electrical charge. Fuel cells are currently expensive; however with continued development they may form the ultimate green solution in vehicles and static generation.
Conventional engine-driven generators may be adapted to run on hydrogen fuel. ITM have deep knowledge of both fuel cell and generator technologies, and believe that the internal combustion engine provides a low cost solution to the adoption of hydrogen.
