HHO Applications

HHO generators produce a mixture of gas in the ratio of two hydrogen atoms to each oxygen atom. This is same molar ratio as water, but both hydrogen and oxygen are gaseous. When HHO gas is burned, it produces only pure water. The flame formed is suitable for cutting, brazing, soldering and polishing.

ITM Power - HHO Applications

In polishing, the flame is used to gently heat the surface of the material to re-finish and smooth imperfections and scratches. The carbonless products of combustion lead to an exceptionally pure finish in glass, jewellery, some metals and plastics.

For cutting, HHO generators produce a flame of sufficient temperature to cut a range of materials including iron and aluminium. It has very little problem cutting through oxidation and rust, and due to the very concentrated heat, will cut leaving a minimal heat effect zone.

When used for brazing or soldering, HHO flames quickly bring the materials to the required temperature, preventing heat build up and warping. Again, solder joints are free of contamination, perfect for use in dental laboratories and other applications requiring high purity heat treatment and joining.

ITM's HFlame HHO generator is a sophisticated alkaline electrolyser unit designed to replace compressed oxygen and fuel gases in workshops, laboratories and clean-rooms. It eliminates the safety issues associated with high pressure flammable gas bottles and provides an indefinite supply of fuel gas without the reliance on third party suppliers.
