The SafeFlame EU project addresses key safety issues in the huge global market of brazing.

The brazing process is used across industries as diverse as refrigeration, air conditioning, ship building, rail stock, car repairs, jewellery, dental technology and polishing. The SafeFlame consortium represents approximately 1000 SMEs using brazing, in a sector that employs 125,000 people in Europe and has a turnover of €20bn.

Currently brazing and many other flame processes use highly flammable bottled gases such as acetylene and propane contained in high pressure cylinders. The SafeFlame technology has three unique features which bring major safety improvements to the sector, decreasing the risk of accidents and the cost of insuring operators, buildings and transportation vehicles.
