Hydrogen can be used to generate electricity via a fuel cell or a conventional petrol generator which has been suitably modified.
ITM have deep experience of both technologies and are able to specify and deploy either route to best suit the application.
ITM have modified the petrol engine in a Ford Focus to burn hydrogen fuel. This is an alternative route to costly fuel cell vehicles and enables existing vehicle stock to be decarbonised.
ITM also have experience in converting static ICE gen sets to run on hydrogen fuel for back up/off grid power applications. Fuel cell generation will also play a role in the back up/off grid power industry and ITM are keen to explore fuel supply opportunities in this area.
